What is Bertolotti Syndrome?
First described by an Italian physician, Mario Bertolotti, in 1917, it is a commonly missed cause of low back pain from lumbo-sacral transitional vertebrae (LSTV). It is a congenital condition and does not manifest until in the age of 20’s, 30’s or 40’s.
How is Bertolotti’s Syndrome Diagnosed?
History of low back pain, buttock pain, X-ray, MRI are usually needed to diagnose this condition
