Hiccup Treatment Specialist, Tampa
What causes a Hiccup?
Hiccups are repeated spasms of diaphragm along with a ‘hic’ sound from closing of vocal cords. This usually happens very quickly and most usually return to normal within minutes to a couple of hours without treatment. They can occur in adults, children and babies.
When should I seek treatment?
Most hiccups are short lived and resolve on their own. If hiccups last days, weeks or months at a time, this could represent an underlying severe disease. And you should seek medical attention.
